Adult Short Learn to Skate

This is for adults who are brand new to skating and want to learn basic skating skills.

Times: Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00-7:00pm 

Dates:  January 3 - January 31, 2024

Location: 400m outdoor Clarence Downey International Speed Skating Oval, the fastest natural ice in Canada.

Cost: $135 (Plus SASSA and SSC fees)

Equipment: Helmet, skates (hockey or speed skate rentals), warm winter clothes for outdoor skating.

Skates: limited sizes of  recreational speed skates are available to rent from SLSSC on a first-come first-served basis ($50 for the season). Skates only available during Club times (renters can’t take them home as they are also used for school classes during the day).

Refund Policy: No refunds after the first skating session.

Group 5 - Adult Speed Skating

This is for adults who have experience skating and want to learn or continue speed skating.

Long Track Dates:   Coached sessions will take place mid-December to end of February  (ice permitting)  

Times: Wednesday 6:00pm - 7:30pm 

Long Track Location:  400 m outdoor  Clarence Downey International Speed Skating Oval, the fastest natural ice in Canada.   

Long Track Cost: $135  (plus SASSA and SSC fees)

 In addition to the coached sessions on Wednesdays, registrants for this program will be permitted to skate during  SLSSC’s  speed-skating-only  practice times  (6:00 to 7:30pm)  on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays during the Oval’s season.
